Full Planning or “The Bespoke” package is our most comprehensive package, where we quote, research, and help with the selection of all of your vendors. All couples have to do is approve the proposals, sign and pay deposits.
Later we start working on the execution of those foundational pieces and bringing the event to life. Partial Planning or “The Tailored” is a more collaborative process, where we are there to coach & guide you through the foundational stage of wedding planning and later, lead the preparation of all of the final materials to ensure the execution is pristine.
Finally, our Coordination collections, which is our “The Hallmark” and “The Essentials” packages focus on just the execution.
What’s the difference between full planning, partial planning, and coordination?
For ‘The Bespoke’ book us between 18 - 20 months before the wedding. For ‘The Tailored’ book us between 12 - 15 months before the wedding. For ‘The Hallmark’ book us 8 - 12 months before the wedding. For ‘The Essentials’ book us 4 - 8 months before the wedding.
How far in advance should we book Velada Events?
We are proudly woman-owned & latina-owned. We have many team members who are fully bilingual in English & Spanish
Do you offer bilingual wedding planning services?
We understand that the wedding planning process looks really different for everyone, so we do not put limits on the amount of calls or we don’t set a specific frequency that’s one-size fits all. Instead, we give recommendations based on where we’re at in the process and what we still need to get done.
How often will we meet or communicate during the planning process?
Yes! We require a 30% non-refundable retainer due at the time of signing the contract. After that, we require 30% 60 days before the wedding and the final 40% 30 days before the wedding.
Are there payment plans available?
Velada Events is proud to service the entire East Coast and our owner’s home island of Puerto Rico. Travel fees may apply if the Lead Planner, Lead Coordinator, or Associates need to travel more than two hours by car from Northeast DC.
Do you travel outside the DC-Maryland-Virginia area?
I am communicative, honest, and incredibly supportive of my couples.
I like to keep lines of communication open with my couples so that we’re always on the same page.
I also provide thoughtful and honest feedback for my couples to have the full context before making important decisions for their wedding day.
Finally, I will be supportive & will help execute those decisions flawlessly. For me, it’s important to get into my couple’s brains and execute their day the way they envision it!

Reports for 2026 indicate that the range for weddings in the DC area are between $80,000 and $150,000 for 100 - 150 guests. While Velada Events does not have a minimum budget, we ensure transparency with our couples in regards to their wedding potential cost.
How much is the average wedding budget in DC?
A wedding planner provides guidance, structure, and professional oversight throughout the planning process. Couples who benefit most include those who have demanding careers or limited time, are planning in a different city/state, want help managing vendors/timelines/logistics, feel overwhelmed by decision-making, or have no idea where to start.
